SMAT MCP support
Use this page for problems with SMAT in an AI assistant. Connection availability depends on your account and the current rollout. This page does not mean that SMAT is listed in any assistant’s directory.
Email SMAT supportContact support
Email [email protected] for product, connection or security concerns. Describe the problem and what you expected to happen. This page does not set a separate technical-support response deadline; the Terms of Service continue to apply to complaints.
What to include
Send a short, redacted report. Share only the information needed to investigate the affected action.
- The email address of your SMAT account and the affected brand name, in the private support message.
- The assistant and surface you used, such as its browser or desktop app, plus the date, time and time zone.
- The action you requested, the exact error message or error code, and the steps needed to reproduce it.
- Whether this was a read, a saved change, a paid action or a publication. Include an operation ID or draft link only when relevant.
- A cropped screenshot without credentials or unrelated conversation content. For an unclear publication result, say that the outcome is unknown.
Do not send credentials
Never include passwords, access or refresh tokens, API keys, session cookies, authorization codes, a complete OAuth callback URL, or an unredacted network export. Do not paste temporary preview or upload links into public reports. Do not send the whole conversation or unrelated customer data.
If credentials may have been exposed, revoke the affected SMAT connection and contact support. Removing a message alone is not proof that access has been revoked.
The connection fails or the brand is missing
Check that you signed in to the intended, active SMAT account. Your role must allow access to the brand. During a restricted rollout, a brand may also need to be enabled for MCP.
Start authorization again from your assistant if the consent session expired or you denied access. Use the server address for the intended SMAT environment, not a copied local-test address. Ask support for the correct address if it is unclear.
Your assistant or workspace may restrict custom connections. Do not disable company security controls to bypass a restriction. A successful login does not by itself prove that every SMAT action is available.
If a tool returns LEGAL_ACCEPTANCE_REQUIRED, open SMAT and accept the current Terms and Privacy Notice there. This can block read-only tools even after successful OAuth. Complete the acknowledgement in SMAT rather than changing scopes or reconnecting.
If a tool returns BRAND_REQUIRED, the connection covers all brands of the account. Ask the assistant to list the brands and say which one to use.
Reading works, but editing or generation does not
Reading, writing, paid generation and publication use different permissions. Check the scopes granted to this connection as well as your role in SMAT. Publication access does not include paid generation access.
An eligible plan, available credits and the connection’s spending limit can also affect paid actions. Ask the assistant to check the action’s blockers before starting it. Reconnect with the required permissions only when you intend to grant them.
If preparing, publishing or scheduling a post returns DISCLAIMER_NOT_ACKNOWLEDGED, open the post in SMAT, acknowledge the required disclaimer (the publishing checkbox) and retry. Only publication needs it; drafts, paid generation and approvals do not. Extra scopes, credits or a fresh OAuth connection do not replace this acknowledgement.
Changing the brand profile needs a role that can manage the brand's settings. Without it the tool returns FORBIDDEN; ask a brand manager.
The assistant does not say how much an action costs
Before a paid action the assistant says only that it is paid from the brand's credits by actual usage, and waits for your yes. It does not quote an amount beforehand, because an estimate can differ from the final usage. After the action completes it can tell you how many credits were actually used, when SMAT returns that number. Your balance and history are in SMAT.
If a paid action returns CREDITS_EXHAUSTED, top up the balance in SMAT; free steps, such as reading, drafting and previewing text on an image, still work. SUBSCRIPTION_READ_ONLY or PAYMENT_PROBLEM means the plan or payment method needs fixing in SMAT; until then the assistant can only read, and every change, including drafts and previews, is refused.
An image is missing or the link expired
Ask the assistant to request a fresh preview of the same saved post or carousel slide. Preview links expire after 5 minutes. Reading an existing preview does not regenerate the image and does not itself start a paid action.
Some assistant surfaces may show a blank image tile even when SMAT returned a preview. Open the freshly returned image link or the draft in SMAT. A missing inline image is not proof that the asset was not saved.
Image uploads are limited to 10 MiB and 40 megapixels. An upload request expires after 10 minutes. The assistant must support transferring the file you explicitly selected. An old attachment may no longer be accessible; attach it again rather than asking for a generated substitute.
An action is still processing or its result is unclear
Ask for the status of the existing operation instead of starting it again. Accepted means that work was admitted, not that the output is ready or the post is published.
After a revision conflict, reload the draft and review the change before retrying. If a publication has an unknown result, verify the existing operation and the destination account before any retry. Do not repeat a publication merely because the assistant did not receive its result.
Disconnect and revoke access
Remove the connection from your assistant and revoke the corresponding MCP connection in SMAT’s connection settings. Do not disconnect Facebook or Instagram merely to revoke your assistant’s access.
Revocation blocks future authorized use of that connection. It does not erase content already returned to the assistant, remove published posts, or automatically cancel admitted work. In particular, cancel scheduled publications separately in SMAT or through an authorized scheduling action.
For deletion or privacy requests, use the Privacy Notice and contact support. The assistant provider separately controls data already stored on its side.
